I am Jennie 林纪妍 - a Product Designer and Inclusivity Advocate

Originally from Guangzhou 🇨🇳, I completed my undergraduate at the University of Leeds 🇬🇧. Now I am a graduate student studying Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute, NYC 🇺🇸. I have 1 year of experience as a UX designer. Now I am dedicated to becoming a product designer specialising in accessible and inclusive design.

I am passionate about learning how to create a smooth experience between users and technologies and thus facilitate the communication between humans and machines. Digital inclusivity and accessibility are my particular design focuses – I believe that technology should be empowering and equal for everyone.

To put my commitment into practice, I have been actively involved in volunteer work since my high school years, extending my support to individuals in hospice centers and nursing homes in countries that I have stayed. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by those with varying abilities but has also fueled my passion for developing practical solutions to improve their quality of life.

In pursuit of bridging the technological divide, I initiated a project aimed at connecting older generations with emerging technologies. This initiative has already resulted in the development of a technology application tailored to their needs and is in the process of creating printed materials, such as brochures and flyers, to further facilitate their access to technology. Through these efforts, I am dedicated to ensuring that technology serves as a tool for inclusion, enabling everyone to benefit from its advancements.
